Working on a highly organized structure, TOLTD, LLC. uses a successful three phase process to ensure professional and efficient web design and development.

PHASE 1: Structure & Concept

We will meet with you to understand your business, the industry you operate in, the objectives you want to achieve, and the audience you will be communicating with, before creating a structured wireframe which will detail the way your site should work. Following the wireframe we will begin designing to provide a series of initial concepts for you.

PHASE 2: Refine

This phase involves refining the initial design concepts from Phase 1 into one final concept which will ultimately become the look of your website.

PHASE 3: Building

Once you are happy with how your site will look and function, TOLTD, LLC. will begin building and testing the actual website in order for it to go live.

Ajax / CSS / xHTML / Flash / ASP.NET

What are these? In short:

  • Ajax for animation and speed (it's the new Flash)
  • CSS applies style information to your pages
  • xHTML and/or ASP.NET contain your website content and functionality
  • Flash is for more complex animation, movies and sound

Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML)

Ajax has recently become very popular amongst web developers. It allows portions of content to be changed / refreshed without having to navigate to another page, much like a flash website, but Ajax combined with Javascript libraries such as script.aculo.us or mootools for their effects and seamless integration can produce stunning results. CSS & xHTML

These two technologies along with RSS and XML form the core of what everyone is raving about, Web 2.0.

CSS & xHTML are not particularly new technologies but are just starting to be used properly (by some developers).

CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) allows you to completely seperate styling information for your content contained within xHTML (Extensible HyperText Markup Language) or ASP.NET (Active Server Page with Microsoft .NET). This technique reduces the need to reproduce styling information for every page by referencing an external CSS file, therefore increasing the speed of your website.

ASP.NET

Active Server Pages using the Microsoft .NET Framework provide a flexible, powerful and highly secure alternative to xHTML.

A key feature of ASP.NET pages is that we can plug in a number of different technologies into them, such as CSS files, HTML, Javascript, AJAX and Flash.

Flash

Because flash is not easily indexed by search engines, we do not produce websites built entirely using flash. We do however produce flash elements where appropriate or by client request.
